Why Use Honey on Your Hair?
Honey is one of the main ingredients in cooking. Generally, it is used as a culinary seasoning or to soothe a cough naturally.
In addition to being excellent for health, honey is one of the best nourishing ingredients to incorporate into your hair care routine. Honey is renowned for being a reparative treatment for all hair types, making them shiny and silky without weighing them down.
Here, I reveal 5 cosmetic recipes, easy to make once a week (ideally). You can apply your mask to dry or wet hair.
If necessary, you can adjust the quantity according to the length of your hair. But before you start, remember to separate your hair into several sections to make application easier.
You will need a comb, plastic wrap (and/or a warm towel) to optimize hydration during application, vegetable oils… and your two hands! Say goodbye to dull hair and hello to beautiful hair!
1. Vegetable Mask with Aloe Vera and Honey
Combining these two nutrient-rich ingredients will bring strength, shine, and vitality to your hair.
Ingredients:
- 1 aloe vera leaf
- 1 tablespoon of honey
Start by extracting the gel from the aloe vera leaf, then mix it with the honey until you get a homogeneous texture. Then apply it to your damp hair and leave it on for 1 hour or two before washing your hair.
2. Honey and Coconut Oil for Greasy Hair
Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon of honey
- 2 teaspoons of coconut oil
Very simple, mix the two ingredients. Then, apply the mask to the hair and leave it on for about 2 hours before rinsing with warm water. With this reparative mask, you don’t have to finish with shampoo.
3. Protective and Anti-Hair Loss Mask with Honey and Yogurt
These two ingredients combined reduce hair loss by helping them recover strength and vitality.
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon of yogurt
- 2 tablespoons of honey
Mix the two ingredients and apply the preparation to your hair. Massage your hair well so that it penetrates the roots well, leave it on for an hour. Rinse your hair with lukewarm water.
4. Strengthening Mask with Honey, Olive Oil, and Avocado for Dry and Damaged Hair
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- one egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- A whole avocado or half, depending on the length of your hair
Alternatively, you can replace the avocado with a banana. Indeed, this ingredient is also enriched in vitamins and protects the hair fiber from external aggression.
Blend all the ingredients to obtain a smooth preparation. Then apply the mixture, focusing on the lengths and ends. Massage the scalp for at least 5 minutes.
Then cover your hair with plastic wrap or a towel. Leave on for at least an hour. To finish, rinse your hair and shampoo as usual.
5. Nourishing Mask with Honey and Egg Yolk
Egg yolk is often used to deeply nourish very dry and fragile hair.
To make this nutritious mask, you need to separate the white from the yolk and whisk the yolk. Then add a tablespoon of honey and mix until you get a homogeneous paste.
Again, you can double the quantities depending on the length of your hair.
Quick tip: to avoid throwing away the egg white, you can apply it to your face. Your skin will be nourished and your pores tightened. A perfect combo, isn’t it?
